![]() | Friends of Scotchmans Creek and Valley Reserve The Friends of Scotchmans Creek and Valley Reserve Inc. is a community group dedicated to the protection, maintenance and rehabilitation of the Urban Park environment of Scotchmans Creek, Valley Reserve and the surrounding open space in Waverley. Our particular area of interest is the Scotchmans Creek Linear Park from its commencement, by the side of Waverley Road near Montague Street, Glen Waverley, downstream to Stanley Avenue, Mt. Waverley and the Valley Reserve in Mt. Waverley. Broadly, our aims are to co-operate with, and assist, the Monash Council and Melbourne Water in maintaining and enhancing this environment and to encourage neighbours and the wider community to participate in this work. This includes controlling erosion, managing the banks, protecting flora and fauna, propogation of indigenous plants, eradicating weeds and native revegetation. The Scotchmans Creek Linear Park and the Valley Reserve are already beautiful community areas, widely appreciated by many residents. But they can be made better - and you can help! We are an Incorporated Association with a Committee of Management. We hold regular committee meetings and general meetings with interesting speakers throughout the year. We also organise community activities including work parties, planting days and other events. |
